As part of Nike's "On Air" competition, independent designers were given the opportunity to put their own spin on iconic models. One of the winners had the chance to present their interpretation of Christian Tressler's iconic design.

For this Nike Air Max 97, Gwang Shin drew inspiration from the vibrant city of Seoul, particularly the illuminated signs that illuminate the cityscape at night. The shoe features a black leather base adorned with colorful ripples, which represent the colors of the national flag. In terms of details, the shoe includes round two-tone laces, an oversized swoosh on the quarter panel, and the inscription "Seoul" on the tongue branding and insoles.

This Air Max 97 Neon Seoul serves as a reminiscent of the edition created by Sean Wotherspoon but with a more subdued and vibrant color scheme. It captures the essence of Seoul's energy and adds a unique touch to the iconic Air Max 97 silhouette.
